PAINTINGS

Souldance (2007-2008)
The paintings focus on the mood-enhancing qualities of specific colours and their interaction with texture. They explore the relationship between visual impact and the positive effect colour creates in our daily life.

Circles (2007-2009)
Circles is a series of large round abstract paintings, that reflect parts of life, that are hidden like memories and only reach the surface from time to time...
(Mixed media/acrylic on board)

Abstract I & II (2007-2009)
Based on spontaneity, emotions and a feeling for colour, these individual abstract paintings are part of an ongoing artistic journey and were created to touch the viewer's soul.
(Mixed media/Acrylic on canvas/board)

Energy (2007-2009)
A series of paintings exploring the viscosity of the paint medium in an increasingly energetic manner. The liquid paint is given the freedom to flow while the hands of the artist become guide and selector of the process.
(Acrylic on canvas/board)

Mood Zones (2007-2009)
Iindividual paintings inspired by questions about life, relationships, dreams, purpose and feelings. Aim is to create a sanctuary for the soul, full of empathy and sensitivity.
(Acrylic on canvas/board)

Landscapes (2007-2010)
These individual paintings are inspired and influenced by different landscapes, New Zealand's nature and other beautiful countries.
(Acrylic on canvas/board)

Peace Circles (2007-2009)
This series of medium round paintings reflects the importance of peace and freedom within ourselves and as part of the modern world with its diversity of cultures, races and societies.
(Acrylic on canvas/board)

Dancing in a Garden of Biomorphic Cells (2009)
These large organic shaped paintings are inspired and influenced by a two-year project very close to my heart. Fascinated with the amazing beauty of cells observed and animated by 3D Electron microscopy, the paintings reflect and interpret the structures and patterns of these cells.
(Acrylic on board)

Reflections (2010)
The paintings reflect a personal encounter with important situations and moments of the past in a more symbolic style. Going back in time inspires feelings and thoughts about opportunities, decisions and certain directions in life.
(Acrylic/Mixed Media on board)

Collages: "Melancholy of an Alien" (2010)
A new series of collages inspired and influenced by a permanent search for an unknown destination. The feeling of being different, an outsider, an immigrant or a foreigner, not belonging or being confused and the realisation that freedom comes at a price.
(Acrylic/Mixed Media on canvas)

New Energy (2010)
A follow-up on my earlier Energy paintings. I am still exploring the viscosity of the paint medium in new colour arrangements, proportions, contrasts and different gloss levels.
(Acrylic on board)

Works on Paper (2008-2010)
These paintings on fine art paper are somewhere between symbolic, abstract and completely non-objective, utilizing both a control of the medium and an allowance for the accidental. Some paintings were created "in the moment", others were created after detailed planning.
